About Us

An urban planner and geographer, Guthrie Alexander undertakes a wide variety of planning and design projects in the Austin office of landscape architecture and planning firm TBG Partners.  Guthrie has gained a reputation for consistency and excellence, but his defining characteristic is simply that of a problem-solver. He has an innate drive to build, improve things and solve problems, and this passion surfaces daily in all manners of design and craftsmanship. If its outdoors, hands-on or creative there is a chance Guthrie is interested in it.

Guthrie is experienced in comprehensive vehicle repair, primarily Toyota Land Cruisers; welding and metal fabrication, and woodworking. His interest in building and craftsmanship overlaps with his love of the outsdoors, and Guthrie enjoys hiking, camping, canoeing, hunting and sport shooting.

His diverse background includes working in the backcountry of Yellowstone National Park, building houses and churches with a construction company, biking 150 miles from Houston to Austin in the MS150, and serving as President of the University of Texas at Austin Photography Club for two years. His enthusiasm for the outdoors, building and fostering community sparked great interest in this invaluable opportunity to give back in Africa. A native of Comanche, Texas, Guthrie enjoys barefoot running, traveling and spending time with his wife.
